About Me

I am a psychotherapist working in private practice in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town specialising in trauma, tension and stress release. I have a somatic approach to therapy – supporting the whole person considering their physical, emotional and social wellbeing.

My interest in psychology started during my child development studies at North West University. Life took me on different roads since then and after many years as an accountant, the opportunity presented itself to pursue my dream of being a psychotherapist.

I successfully completed my studies as a counsellor at SACAP in 2019, and currently studying BSc (Honours)Psychology.

During my work as an accountant I ran into serious health issues – high blood pressure, constant migraines, dizziness that influenced my daily routine and well-being. I was referred to a therapist and introduced to TRE. After intensive therapy sessions my health improved and I hadn’t had a migraine since then. It enabled me to learn something life-changing…! I realised I had to share what I experienced and enrolled in the TRE course. I graduated and am proud to be a certified TRE Provider.

The process of becoming a trauma therapist is about exploring your own story, fears, biases and triggers, but also, your strengths, unique abilities and the things that make you…you!

This is the challenging stuff, because yes, it is all about… you. But it’s also the exciting part, because as you do this inner-work, you find that within the context of working with those who’ve been impacted by trauma, the more you are you, the more you are able to be a human and feel, relate and share your ‘human being-ness’, the easier healing will happen.
